2025 Artist residency works
For this residency I worked in the printmaking medium, creating works in both linoleum and drypoint etchings.
The first works here are part of the series I created about life and death, titled “Solace In Death”

Condolences
The print titled "Condolences" captures a poignant moment between life and death, illustrating the deep bond formed in times of mourning. In the scene, a woman stands at a crossroads, her eyes reflecting a mix of sorrow and resilience. Death approaches with a gentle demeanor, reaching out a hand to rest on her shoulder, offering solace and guidance as she prepares to navigate her next steps. This artwork serves as a powerful reminder that in moments of grief, compassion can guide us forward, transforming loss into a journey embraced with care. The tender connection depicted in "Condolences" evokes an understanding that support in the face of death can illuminate the path ahead, allowing one to step into the unknown with a renewed sense of strength.
Conversations
In "Conversations” a poignant print captures a moment of reflection between a man and the embodiment of Death, their figures framed in a serene window. With their backs turned to the viewer, they engage in a profound dialogue, embodying the acceptance that death is merely a transition—a continuation of life's journey. The subtle interplay of light and shadow signifies movement, suggesting that both the man and Death are in motion, embracing change as a natural step forward. This artwork invites contemplation on mortality, encouraging viewers to find peace in the inevitability of life's cycle.
comfort
“Comfort," the final piece in the Solace in Death triptych, embodies the intricate relationship between life and mortality. Through the medium of reduction linoleum print, it presents a poignant visual narrative: death cradling an infant, symbolizing the inescapable cycle of existence. This imagery evokes a duality, illustrating that while life invariably culminates in death, the journey can be tender and full of grace, even when faced with life’s premature end. By portraying death in a nurturing light, the artwork seeks to offer solace, inviting viewers to find tranquility in the inevitability of life's conclusion, and to recognize that every beginning is interwoven with an end.
